Much to Quebecers’ excitement Premier François Legault has announced a plan to gradually ease restrictions across the province on May 28. According to the Premier’s plan, as soon as this weekend Quebecers will be able to have meals on restaurant patios and the province-wide curfew will be lifted. If all goes as planned, even more restrictions will be lifted such as indoor dining as soon as June 7 in Montréal and Laval. Cheers to that!

Canadians have been eagerly looking forward to reconnecting post-COVID. According to a 2020 Angus Reid poll, top of mind (after reconnecting and hugging their loved ones) is “heading out to a restaurant.” In fact, last summer the Quebec market enjoyed strong restaurant traffic trends during a pandemic, easily meeting best pre-COVID traffic levels, according to independent third-party research. Restaurants are already fully booked even before officially reopening.
