Nestled in the heart of Montreal’s Little Italy is a favourite UB venue of ours, the famous family-run Pizzeria Bottega. Open for over a decade, The Gazette describes this hotspot as earning its place “as a must destination for authentic pizza and sfizi.” Bottega is known for seeking out amazing ingredients, such as organic salumi, fresh mozzarella di buffala from Caserta and hand-picked San Marzano tomatoes — all make up their authentic Italian cuisine. Did we mention they even have a Vesuvian rock wood-burning oven that was shipped in one piece from the port of Naples? The forno is just shy of four tons and cooks a margherita in 90 seconds flat.

Bottega means “workshop/studio,” aptly named by the founders as a way of expressing their ethos and approach to homemade cuisine. Everything at Bottega is homemade, from the perfect pizza dough to the tomato sauce and even the restaurant’s famous gelati.

Unarguably authentic and fresh, Bottega Pizzeria is a must for lovers of Italian food and pizza as well as wine. With an impeccably curated list of wines paired to perfection, pizza flavours inspired by the flavours of Naples and a variety of sumptuous sfizi it is no wonder people keep coming back again and again. But don’t just take our word for it… check out the rave reviews and five start ratings for yourself.
